Psalm 138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endurethfor ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. (KJV)

The NIV renders this verse like this:

"The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever-- do not abandon the works of your hands." (NIV)

Moses speaks here in figurative language. These verses speak of how God took the Children of Israel and led them and instructed them in the desert wilderness.
