Posts: 5261 (08/21/08 05:03:18) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Tags : None I am doing my best to trust God and not be upset but it is a loosing battle!!!!! I go over and over in my mind all the positive things in my life but I still worry about our finances all the time!!!!!! I remind myself that even though things are bad again, we have managed one way or the other and somehow seem to always catch up!!! But I still am very stressed!!!! DH has had very little work since the second week in July, we had to borrow for our house payment Aug 1 and now here we are almost to Sept 1 and dh has not made enough to pay the utilities and house payment. He has only made $1500 this month-we need at least $4000!!!! With this money we have paid some of the utilities, a few groceries, two insurances, gas, to have new water softner installed, one medical bill, my meds and our tithe. I never know what to pay, I am always afraid to spend any money and feel guilty about any expense!!!!!! Dh had a job lined up this week-not big but it would help and the guy called back and gave it to someone else, dh has been trying to put some bids in but cannot get all the info he needs-depending on others who need to quote prices-he calls and calls and they just don't get him the info, so he tries other avenues with the same results!! He is supposed to be getting work with a couple guys from church-they seem to have work for themselves and never give dh any work even though work has been promised!!! On top of that the water softner went out yesterday for good-we had had it looked at and thought it was fixed at least for awhile but ....... Also got a bill from the lawyer about our house that was twice as much as quoted and ds was rejected from medicaid this week!!!! Dh has done a couple jobs at half his regular rate just to get a little money-no choice!!! Dh is beating the bushes to get work, we are praying constantly, we are not spending one dime extra or frivilously but yet not enough money to live on!!!!!!!!!! I just do not know what to do!!!!!!! We do not know how to get more money in our home!!!!!! God does not seem to be helping, He seems soooooooooooo silent and we get back stabbed every time we turn around or have some huge unexpected bill that must be dealt with!!!! We are upright people who only want to take care of our family and pay our bills on time. What are we doing wrong, why does this not get any better???? ***Sharon Sue *** Child of the King. It is hard to go through financial difficulties, and wondering where the next paycheck is coming from. The bills pile up and you wonder if they will EVER get caught up. There are no easy answers. I don't know why God allows these things to happen. I don't know your personal situation, so I'm not going to offer advice. I will pray for you; pray that God provides for your needs and that he would calm and comfort all your fears. Fear. I hate fear because Satan can really use it to mess up our heads. I would hug you if possible Sharon Sue. Keep your focus, on the Lord, he will see you through this just like everything else. You are loved and treasured by those here, and your Father in heaven who knows all your needs.....

It produces so much stress in me during times like you described that I feel it enter my body and cause more fibro pain....or now sjogrens, raynauds, reflux,spasms and on and on. I don't really know the difference any more! So I am concerned of it's effect on your health....try to take good care. Yikes..... It sounds very hard and we've been there and are there often, having to make payments on medical bills and dip into the red at times. It sounds so chronically exhausting for you guys and that your husband is trying his best. I don't have any answers, but keep on praying and I will and others I am certain. At times like these, I have come to expect that our refridgerator will break or a car will need repair, etc. At least 3 or 4 major items.....oh, yes, and a kid usually gets sick or I need 3 more prescriptions. I really feel that God is providing and getting us through somehow, but it sure doesn't feel like it. It feels more like a battle with the enemy! It's in the looking back, I see God's hand more often, but trusting each day He knows are situations and cares though silent. I'm quite obsessive, so it is a struggle for me to relinquish things to God. Lately, I try to put a time limit to my concerns or I recognize where I am at emotionally and think of the changing of a tv channel to a better channel. Sounds good theoretically....but it doesn't always work for me. I try! Kind of like that song, "We Fall Down, We Get Up"....can't remember who it is by. That's me. Just got to get back up again! All I can say is to hold on tight and expect that God's mercies will be new every morning. That day by day, He will bring your precious family through. I don't think you are doing anything wrong to cause the difficulties. I've been through that mental beating of myself too as I can't help with the income now and I planned to go back to work in my field...speech therapy. However, speech therapists with swollen vocal cords that cannot sit upright all day are not in high demand! I missed disability as well by staying home and teaching my kids....had I worked just a few more years (I only worked 10,) I'd receive a check. The system seems all backwards to me. Then I thought I could do editing work at home and my eyes were affected and it's clear I have to limit reading and computor time. So......... much hugs and understanding there. Praying you can have a good day in the Lord, keep seeking Him.....let's do it arm in arm ladies! Things are not getting any easier with gas, food, etc. going through the roof and so many are in this place. I was wondering if any of you know of a legitimate on-line job I could get. Something like data entry or like Lyn said about proof reading???? I think I could do some on-line work for a few hours a day, but finding legitimate work is difficult. I am barely functioning today but trying to keep going. Finances are hard these days as well as jobs. I am trying to ebay everything in the house, made over $1300 less ebay and paypal fees however I have a bunch of things that didnt sell so I have to lower prices constantly. Heather has made jewelry, no sales. I need $$ for Heather's next surgery, tags for trucks, insurance for trucks...just 2 and we have 2 children that are driving age and cannot afford their cars or tags or insurance so.....they dont drive. I may teach my son to drive to help me but the insurance is high. I want him to concentrate on school and not a job yet...but all 4 of us may have to work somewhere. My daughter's would be lower but she needs more back and spine work to drive, she may never drive. I need help driving everywhere. Anyway food is going up, our trucks need repairs, they are old, need to kennel animals to go visit my parents and the gas which is $60 to fill up mine!! Plus a hotel as I cant drive the 14 hrs and I cannot deal with the awful security at these airports...they are mean these days and rude....feel like a criminal trying to fly somewhere....they go nuts and wand me and search me weirdly in a way I feel is abusive... I have a plumber coming for a broken pipe..... Sharon Sue, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! I dont know how we can pay our bills, the expenses are more than the income. I re joined the 700 Club today.....$20 a month....giving brings blessings.....so I am believing. That is all the wisdom I can give...BELIEVE...GIVE...AND PRAY... Dh has a job that will cover our house payment this week. We do need $100 more to cover our tax payment this week. Praying God will provide. We are still very tight with no extra for groceries or gas, etc. but are hanging in there!!! Hopefully a couple of the bids dh has in will get some work. DH told me this week that we are going to trust our way out of this mess!!!! Interesting!!! I thought we had sold all we could of our belongings but dh found a couple things, so we are going to try eBay and the local advertiser.
